MEET OUR CATALYST
A former Texas State Senator and 2014 Democratic gubernatorial nominee, Wendy Davis has continued her deep involvement in promoting progressive policies and in making political gains in Texas and beyond.
From her 9 years of experience on the Fort Worth City Council, to becoming a state senator in 2008 and serving there for 6 years, Wendy has fought tirelessly for a future where everyone can realize their full potential.
Drawing on her own background as a single mom living in poverty who ultimately graduated from Harvard Law School, Wendy believes strongly in bodily autonomy and reproductive healthcare, access to quality public and higher education. She also believes in the principles of democracy that can only be achieved through equitable access to the ballot.
Today, after founding a non-profit that trains young women in civic engagement and advocacy and after spending two years as Planned Parenthood Texas Votes’ senior advisor, Wendy leads a consulting practice. This supports the success of progressive candidates and political organizing.
