We respect your right to privacy! Any and all personally identifiable information collected at this site will not be sold or rented, or otherwise disclosed for commercial purposes or activities not consistent with the mission of our organization except pursuant to judicial order. Users or subscribers will receive no cookies (unless it is beyond our control), charges or downloads from us unless voluntarily agreed to by the user. Any personally identifiable information you give us such as your name, address, telephone number, etc., will be held with the utmost care, and will only be used in ways that are consistent with the mission of NCJW. A more detailed explanation about how we care for your personal information is described below.
Personal Identification and Contact Information
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not disclose, trade, rent, lease or loan your name or other personal identification information to any party other than NCJW. Access to personal contact information is granted only to authorized NCJW personnel.
We will use your information to respond to you. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.
Your Access to and Control Over Information
At any time, you may opt out of any future contacts from us, and you can also do the following at any time by contacting us via email, written correspondence or telephone using the information given on our website:
- See what data we have about you, if any.
- Change/correct any data we have about you.
- Have us delete any data we have about you.
- Express any concern you have about our use of your data.
For legal and accounting purposes, your donation records will remain in our database, but your email address will be deactivated.
Technical Information
An IP address is a number assigned to your computer automatically when you use the Internet. When you use the NCJW website, technical information from your PC, such as IP addresses and browser version, may be communicated to our host. This information will not be linked to anything that identifies you personally and is not used to track the activities of individual users of the site. This information may be used to help NCJW improve the look and function of this website but will not be collected or aggregated into personal profiles for use or sale.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on your computer tied to information about you. We currently do not use cookies, but may in the future. If NCJW decides to use "cookies" in the future, you will be notified and given a chance to "opt-out." If we decide to use cookies we will provide a more detailed explanation of how they work at that time.
Some links to outside organizations or businesses may use cookies. However, we have no access to or control over these cookies.
Communications from the Site
We send all new members a welcoming email. Established members will occasionally receive information on activities such as our programs, volunteer opportunities, advocacy issues and general news. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see the Your Access to and Control Over Information section.
External Links
The NCJW site may contain links to other sites. These links are provided to help you find information, products or services that are of interest to you. NCJW is not responsible for, and makes no representation regarding, the privacy practices or content of these sites. You should check the privacy statement of each and every website to understand their policies. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.
Security
This website takes reasonable precautions to protect our usersÂ’ information once we have it. Email and other forms of Internet communication are not normally encrypted, and therefore are not 100% safe from interception. Any form of e-commerce (i.e. donations) we use would be encrypted. When asked to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is protected using customary and commercially reasonable security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the data under our control. While on a secure page, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just "surfing."
We also protect your information offline. Only authorized NCJW personnel who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
If you have any questions about the security at our website, you can contact us via email, written correspondence or telephone using the information given on our website.
Legal Process
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our website.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
If, however, we are going to use usersÂ’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our website notifying users of the change. In some cases where we post a notice we will also email users who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.
